Trauma-Informed Care, Retreats, Community & Training
Healing After Suicide Loss, Together
Suicide Grief Support exists to offer empathy-rich, trauma-informed, holistic healing for those bereaved by suicide. Through retreats, an online community, coaching, workshops, supervision and training, we co-create safe, stigma-free spaces dedicated to healing and hope.

Our Story – From Lived Loss to Healing Mission
Suicide Grief Support began with one woman’s lived experience – losing her brother to suicide and spending over a decade supporting her own suicidal child.
For Dr. Sue Egan, a Counselling Psychologist and EMDR specialist, grief is not just professional – it’s personal. She knows first-hand the weight of silence, stigma, and the complexity of navigating life after suicide loss.
Transforming her own journey into a mission, Sue founded Suicide Grief Support to ensure no one has to face this path alone. Today, we provide everything from suicide grief retreats to online bereavement support groups, resources, and international keynote talks.

Why We Exist
Losing someone to suicide can leave families and loved ones carrying grief that feels invisible and misunderstood. We believe no one should have to walk that road in isolation.
At Suicide Grief Support, we create trauma-informed spaces for suicide bereavement support – from online grief communities to in-person retreats in the UK and worldwide. We also partner with organisations, charities, and schools to deliver training and keynote talks on suicide bereavement, trauma, and grief awareness.
Meet Dr. Sue Egan
Dr. Sue Egan is a Counselling Psychologist, EMDR practitioner, suicide grief specialist, and international keynote speaker. She combines professional expertise with lived experience, helping individuals and families navigate the unique complexities of suicide bereavement.
Her work integrates psychology, trauma therapy, and polyvagal-informed practice with deep compassion, empowering people to release guilt and shame, regulate emotions, and reclaim their lives. Sue’s doctoral research focuses specifically on suicide grief, and she is currently writing a book on the subject, further exploring the experiences of those left behind.
Beyond her clinical and retreat work, Sue is a sought-after keynote speaker on suicide loss, trauma, and grief awareness. Her talks blend research with lived experience, breaking stigma and leaving audiences with hope, understanding, and practical strategies.

“Dr Sue’s workshop on suicide grief was powerful and deeply moving. Delivering something so personal must have been incredibly challenging, yet she did an amazing job. The session struck a perfect balance – weaving personal disclosure, breadth of research, and real engagement without feeling like lip service. I especially valued the way prevention and postvention were given space separately, with a strong focus on the impact. Sue’s openness was both brave and illuminating, and it brought the challenges of this work to life in a way that really resonated. Every word, every piece of research felt valuable. A truly excellent workshop.”
James, Clinical Psychologist
